A pick your own flower garden in the Huon Valley
Hello! We are Matt and Alice, and we recently turned our little country property into a flourishing pick-your-own flower farm. Mountain River Flower Patch grew out of our combined love for flowers and spending quality time together.
Set in a charming valley, surrounded by gorgeous mountains, our little patch invites you to slow down, reconnect with those you love while you design and pick your own bouquet of blooms to take home.

Visitors Welcome
Step into our little slice of Mountain River and pick your own seasonal blooms. Each 3-hour session includes clippers, a vase to fill, and a quick picking demo to get you started. Wander the rows at your own pace—dahlias, sunflowers, roses, cosmos and more await, all with the mountain backdrop behind.
Groups Welcome
Planning something special? We host private picking sessions for birthdays, proposals, anniversaries, elopements and other celebrations. Minimum of 5 picking guests required. Bring your own photographer, decorations or catering—we'll give you the flowers and the space to make it yours. For school groups, community outings, team days or florist early-morning picks, get in touch via email and we'll work out the details together.
When are you open?
Our season runs from January to April. We are open for pre-booked picking sessions only. Please check our booking page for available dates and times.
What is included in the ticket?
Your ticket includes a 3-hour picking session, use of a vase and clippers while on site, and a picking demonstration. You get to take home one standard size vase of flowers.
Are kids and dogs welcome?
Children are very welcome and can even make their own posies! However, for the safety and comfort of all guests and our farm animals, dogs are not permitted on the property.
Can I bring food or drinks?
Yes, you are welcome to bring a picnic or refreshments to enjoy during your visit. However, please note that alcohol is not permitted on the site.
What happens if it rains?
We proceed with sessions unless there is heavy rain on the day. If we need to cancel due to weather, we will notify you and offer a full refund or reschedule. You can also cancel for a full refund with 48 hours notice.
